Under the BWF CERTIFIRE scheme all doors need to be protected by intumescent strips between the sides and top of the frame and the door to give the assurance of reliability in the event of a real fire situation. For FD20 situations, we recommend using FD30 door, lining and intumescent assemblies, common to FD30 installation. These products are designed to protect life; this is the minimum recommendation for John Carr fire resisting doors
